This is so much like a photograph, you have to look twice. Just a stunning painting.

Carol Wisniewski replied:

You are correct Karen, It is a photo, I took in my front yard, though I did make a painted Holiday Card from this scene elsewhere in my "Christmas Card Gallery". Thank You

Ronda Broatch

Love the feeling this evokes. And the quiet I know there must be.

Carol Wisniewski replied:

Hi Ronda, thank you for the visit and nice comment. Yes, there is a certain silence and stillness that comes with the snowstorms.

Carol, I just paid a surprise visit to your wonderful Photography Gallery and viewed 25 of your remarkable photos and voted and favored all 25 of them from the Wisconsin Flowers and Scenery group. But this one was my favorite I love the black and white effect on this scene after the blizzard had hit your area in New Jersey, the details are amazing and the foreground and background effects with the heavy snow on those areas is amazing, fantastic photo, fav, voted and google promoted

Carol Wisniewski replied:

Thank you John, I am quite flattered by your lovely and very encouraging comment. I have only taken a few photos, I'm kind of new to this aspect of art! Thank you so much for this generous support. Hopefully, I can look forward to some great snow scenes here in NJ, this winter as they predict we are to have a Snowy Season and supposedly you will also in NY. Let It Snow! :))

Carol, it certainly looks pristine and beautiful, although no fun to manage. Gave this a vote here & in the Weather Contest too. v

Carol Wisniewski replied:

Thank Cheri for the lovely comment, it may be a bit much to shovel, usually wet snow, but when your inside a warm home looking out, it just sets the seasonal ambiance. Thank you for your votes, very much appreciated. Carol

There is a downside to all beauty, huh! I like the composition and feel of this image a lot, Carol! v/f

Carol Wisniewski replied:

Thank you Steve, I am not a photographer, but this was out my front door and I couldn't resist. Largest snow that we have had ever in October here in New Jersey.

Thank you for sharing this. I too would have loved to be there to experience the childhood wonder of it. The adult part of dealing with the aftermath, well....

Carol Wisniewski replied:

Foratsake, Thank you, Yes it's beautiful to see, but the snow was a very wet sticky one and the trees still had their leaves yet making the branches the snow stuck on very heavy. It was very cold and the snow stayed around for quite awhile. The area lost quite a few trees and large branches which fell on powerlines and roadways, paralyzing our traffic for several days until all was cleared. Many had powerlines downed and were without electric or heat for several days. It has it's beauty but then there are "downfalls" to this too. Thanks aagain, Carol

Roena King

Roena King

Oh wow. I would have loved to have been there and watched it snow. Power outages it caused are not so much fun, but while it is coming down it had to have been beautiful.

Carol Wisniewski replied:

It certainly was beautiful, made me wish I were a kid again and go out and make my snow forts. Thank you Ro, glad you enjoy it and stayed nice and warm doing so.
